Congratulations to the new happy couple. I had the privilege to be able to play music for this great family for a second time!!! It was great to see old friends and enjoy the day with familiar faces. It was one of the best parties that I have been able to play music for. I really hope that everyone had as great a time as I did. Shawn D and Amazing Music Give Back to the Bloomington Community

Shawn D and Amazing Music prides itself in our philanthropic ventures and our efforts to help our community. Since the new school year is upon us, we gathered a bunch of school supplies and made a donation to Head Start courtesy of Amazing Music's B.U.G. Club (The Bring Up your Grades Club). The B.U.G. Club was established over 15 years ago as a way to help kids stay motivated to keep their grades up, stay in school, listen to their parents and stay away from drugs and alcohol. Kids kindergarten through 8th grade can send us a signed copy of their report card with grades no lower than "C's" or "Passing" and become an official member of our B.U.G. Club. As an official member of the B.U.G. Club, the student can send us their report card every grading period. As a way of saying "Job Well Done!!" in turn Amazing Music will send the student a prize for their hard work. It could be a CD, coloring books, school supplies, etc... whatever we have in our prize closet. We feel that education is the key to success and we want the next generation of kids and all generations of kids that follow to get a great education and be successful in life. Happy BIrthday To Everyone!!!

I had the great pleasure to be able to play music for a great group of friends!! Some of them new friends, some of them very dear friends that I have known for a very long time!! It was so much fun to be able to be part of this great celebration. I have to give a great big "Thanks!" to everyone that was involved in putting this bash together. Most importantly, I want to give a GREAT BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout out to all the birthday girls!!! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Songer. I hope everyone had as great a time as I did at their reception last night. Everything was perfect. The venue staff was great. The guests, family and friends were so much fun and to round out the perfect evening, everyone was ready to get up and show off their dance moves. Congratulations To The New Bride And Groom

I had one of THE BEST times I have ever had playing music. I had the great pleasure of being the DJ for this great couple and their families and friends at their wedding ceremony and reception. Everyone had a great time and I hope that Aubrey and Brandon will remember this day for as long as they live. I know I will!!! Thanks to everyone that was there. I really wish Aubrey and Brandon the best wishes for their future!!! I made a comment that Aubrey looked like Jennifer Lawrence, (from The Hunger Games) I think she surpasses Jennifer Lawrence!!! Good luck to you!!!

Support Vickie Edwards and her Foundation

This weekend, I was involved in a VERY special event that was close to my heart. In 2007, I lost my sister Carla to a disease called Sarcoidosis. My family and I went through some rough times after she passed away. It will be six years this August since she passed. I recently received a message from  a woman named Vickie Edwards. She said that she was starting a foundation in memory of her daughter who passed away in 2012, and she needed a DJ to entertain at a fundraiser she was hosting. I had been in her shoes. I knew how it felt to lose someone. I wanted to help. I got in contact with her and she told me her story. VIckie's daughter Nicole spent a Sunday afternoon making homemade candy. Afterwards, she wanted to share her creation with family and friends. She got in her car and drove off, nothing unusual about that. On her way back, 15 minutes away from her home, she lost control of her vehicle and had an accident. She was only 18.  Nicole was young, just getting ready to start her life. She had the world in the palm of her hands. She had her sights set on going to  beauty school.  Fast forward to this past weekend.  Vickie, her family, friends and 35 motorcycle enthusiasts took their first  annual Ride for Nicole in support of Vickie's foundation called Nicole Safe Heaven Foundation. I can say with full confidence that this first fundraiser was a complete success!!! Thank you so much for letting me be part of this event. I know that my sister Carla and Vickie's daughter Nicole were looking down on us from Heaven dancing right along with all of us!! The storm that came through right before the fundraiser started was a good thing. The storm was Carla and Nicole's tears of joy. I look forward to working with you again next year and many years to come.  Thanks to EVERYONE involved in this event.
