Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration 2014

I had the privilege to perform at the 2014 MLK Birthday Celebration. The turnout was great and everyone from all races, nationalities, and creeds, came together to celebrate the legacy of a truly great man, Martin Luther King, Jr. I got to meet a lot of great people during rehearsal including members of the Bloomington Peace Choir and the IU African American Choral Ensemble. They really know how to break it down. They not only showed me their singing talents, but their dancing talents as well! Thanks to everyone involved in this project. I really look forward to working with you again in the future. I will cherish this evening in my memory forever. Happy Birthday Dr. King. I thank you for all that you did to make our world a better place. I will strive to continue the legacy that you have put forth among us. Please enjoy the photos below:

Black Friday, Macy's, & Shawn D.

Just a GREAT BIG Thank you from us. We had a really great time at the Macy's Black Friday event. I want to congratulate everyone on a job well done. The entire staff was fantastic. Macy's should be proud to know that they have such great people representing their brand. Macy's has always been a favorite of ours and our entire family. We grew up with Macy's. This event has brought everything full circle and I couldn't have enjoyed myself more. Everyone was shopping and grooving with Shawn D and Macy's. Congratulations to Cheryl and Casey

What a great night!!! Not only did I get to meet some great new people, but I also got so see some really familiar faces!! I saw a lot of old friends that I have known since I came to Bloomington. The entire night was a great success. We hope that Cheryl and Casey have a blessed future. You two are great and we wish you nothing but great things in your lives. Cry of the Children Thanksgiving Dinner Celebration

Another year is upon us and another year we are together. Shawn D and Amazing Music along with Mrs. Dellsie Boddie and her organization Cry of the Children, Inc. got together for her annual Thanksgiving Dinner. We had a blast again this year and everyone had a great Thanksgiving meal. A big shout out to all the volunteers and everyone that made this event possible. We look forward to next year's event. Cry of the Children, Inc was founded in 1995 in Bloomington, Indiana in an effort to help children and teens on their journey of being able to participate in a positive activity and to be accepted in their school and environment. The organization provides Thanksgiving meals to families, literacy, choir, dance, single parent groups, tutoring and a step team. Congratulations Kiersten and Chris Carrico

Congratulations to the new couple Kiersten and Chris. We had a great reception and I hope everyone had as much fun as we did. We wish them nothing but good things in their new life together. Walk of Fang 2013

What a great Halloween party for the kids. Head Start, along with Circles, Eigenmann Hall and of course... Shawn D brought the Halloween spirit in full force. All together with over 50 of Bloomington's finest kids and their parents enjoyed a safe, fun-filled night of costumes, crafts, trick-o-treating and dancing. Thank you to EVERYONE involved in putting this event together. Everyone did an AMAZING job. Happy Halloween to Dr. Sutor and all of his friends that gathered together to have the best Halloween party ever!!! We loved every minute of it and we hope that everyone in attendance did as well. Everyone danced the night away in their ghoulish fashions and forgot about the world for a few hours while Shawn D spun the records from every decade!!!! Middle Way House Awareness Event

Here are some pictures of a great event that I had the privilege to be a part of. Middle Way House, Shawn D and Alpha Chi Omega were able to bring much needed awareness to a very serious epidemic in the nation... domestic violence. Everyone was very dedicated to the event and I must give a great big pat on the back to the coordinating Chairs and the House President for all of their wonderful work. I felt proud on this day and helping out with this cause gave me a really great feeling inside. There were two main event at this gathering... the awareness walk and the men volunteering to relay race in high heels. After the relay race I think that the men that participated truly felt what it was like to "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes"!!! I met a lot of really wonderful people and I even saw some really great friends that came out to show their support to this cause.
